SC rare-earth magnet production needs federal support

Last fall, a truck pulled out of a warehouse in Sumter County and headed down Highway 521 — nothing flashy, nothing dramatic. But that ordinary truck carried something extraordinary: the first commercial shipment of sintered rare-earth magnets made on American soil in a generation.
