23andMe confirms hackers stole DNA data of 6.9 million users

Nearly seven million 23andMe customers have had their data compromised after hackers broke into the genetic testing company’s site in early October.

The US-based company said in a regulatory filing that the personal data of 0.1 per cent of customers — about 14,000 — had been accessed by “threat actors”.…
