FOOD SHOP I’m a mum and did my weekly shopping at Dunnes Stores – and got ten dinners for €100, here’s my haul
AN Irish mum has told how she did her weekly shopping at Dunnes Stores - and bagged ten dinners and more for just €100.
Andrina, @andrinasadventures on TikTok, shared her latest food haul with her followers.
2 Andrina showed off her 'impressive food haul'
2 She saved a fortune with own brand foods and special offers
She listed out everything she bought for the week and said she was "very impressed" with the final bill.
Andrina made big savings by choosing a number of own brand products and availing of some of the special offers.
She also revealed she plans to make spaghetti and meatballs, lasagne, pasta with tuna and tomato, a Chinese fakeaway, chicken burgers, beef burgers and hake and mash for some of the week's dinners.
She said: "So I just got, not a big shop but €100 worth of shopping at Dunnes and again I have to say I'm very impressed.
"I bought this new spaghetti jar so I bought four packets of spaghetti.
"I got free range eggs, two packs of ice creams that were on offer, chargrilled pepper relish, stuff for a lasagne... I'm going to do tuna and tomato pasta.
"There's also Italian pizza sauce that was on offer, some mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, baked beans, brioche, bread...
"Mascapone as we're going to make tiramisu. Cheese triangles, parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella, loads of biscuits because we're nearly out.
"Cream because I'm going to make with the hake a cream sauce.
"Some limes and bananas, these pork and beef meatballs are the best. They're way nicer than the beef on their own.
"Poor mince because they didn't have any beef mince that I liked the look of.
"Seeded rolls and white rolls, jalapeno cheese bites, wedges, salt and chilli crispy shredded chicken that I'm very excited about.
"Burgers, chicken burgers, ham, chocolate milk, normal milk... they have 15 cans of Bulmers for €28 in there at the moment so I'm fairly impressed now and fairly happy with my shop for €100.
"There's ten dinners there so I'm fairly happy with that for €100 and there's snacks and I have some lunch stuff."
'REALLY GOOD SHOP'
A number of her followers also rushed to the comments to share their thoughts on her food shop.
One person wrote: "Wow that looks a lot of food impressive.
"I feel where you have saved big is own brand. A lot of own brand stuff. That lot would easily be €140."
And Andrina replied: "Yeah, I don't mind what I buy, I also bought a lot of stuff on offer like Grissinis were half price."
Another added: "That is a really good shop."
Someone else said: "Awesome value. Nice to see homebrand products."
