[Afropop] Amayo, the former frontman of Antibalas and a key figure in bringing Afrobeat to global audiences, will announce his debut solo album tomorrow AM: Lion Awakes will be released Jan 17. Drawing from his Nigerian Edo heritage and Kung Fu practice, the 5-track album blends Afrobeat rhythms with stories that connect African and Chinese traditions.
