Kenya: Nema and Karuri Council Sued Over Waste Disposal in Kiambu Town

Nairobi Star (Nairobi)-Environment regulator Nema and the Karuri county council have been taken to court over dumping of solid waste in several undesignated sites in Kiambu town. In a suit certified urgent by Justice Isaac Lenaola, Mwangaza Humanitarian Assistance, a local non-governmental organisation says that the two bodies have failed to carry out its public duty in respect of waste management.
